How to Make your Bedroom Cosy for Winter

It’s that time of year again, the leaves have gone from the trees and the weather is getting colder. We have to change our Summer routines into Winter ones, swap cold drinks for spiced hot chocolate and wrap up nice and warm for the Irish weather. And, of course, there’s nothing worse than a cold and uninviting bedroom during the Winter months. It’s time to learn how to make your bedroom cosy for the Winter!

Pillows & Throws

Warm up your bed with a cosy layer of soft pillows and a throw! You can never have enough pillows to melt into on a cold Winters night. Cover your bed in some comfy, but stylish, pillows and a layer of luxury with a comfy throw placed over your bed for a comfortable and toasty nights sleep.

Don’t Leave your Floor Bare

One of the worst feelings ever has to be getting out of bed on a cold Winter morning. An even worse feeling is stepping out onto a cold floor. Get some warmth and comfort under your toes by placing a deep pile shag rug beside your bed. Step out every morning onto a cloud of comfort! Toasty Tip: Leave a pair of fluffy slippers beside your bed so you can easily put them on every morning.

Create Warm Lighting

Warm lighting can instantly bring a sense of warmth to any room. Try using a softer bulb in your bedside lamp, such as an Edison bulb, or warm up the room by lighting some lovely scented candles around your bedroom. Candles display a beautiful soft, warm glow in a room. Try adding a scented candle with a cinnamon or sweet scent to really add some luxury to your bedroom.

Cosy Duvet Cover

The main focus point of any bedroom has to be the bed. A luxurious duvet cover and high tog duvet will make you wish you never had to leave! Make sure when the cold Winter nights hit that you’re wrapped up warm and snug in bed. For some extra cosiness, place a hot water bottle at the end of the bed, near where your feet would be, about 15 minutes before you get in so it’s nice and toasty for you come bed time!
